stupid things i've done today

1. Woke up 45 min late! Maybe I forgot to set my alarm? I can't remember... though i did sleep quite late last night... instead of waking at 6:30 i woke up at 7:15 when my dad walked into my room: "are you going to school??" I literally jumped out of bed and spent a hurried 15min dressing, brushing my teeth and packing my bag.

2. Accidentally took my mum's lunch! (again) I was in such a rush that i grabbed the lunch EVEN THOUGH i had the bowl of rice in my hand for the shared lunch we were having today (my job was to bring rice) so i felt really bad coz my mum didn't have any lunch and i had two portions!

3. Today we celebrated Kiki's birthday at lunch and we're having a 4u maths "gathering" ie we're all going out to eat Thai... and i forgot my camera!! ARGH

4. Helen gave me a picture to scan onto the computer on tuesday... and i totally forgot until today (two days) -_-" I think i really really REALLY need the holidays...

but now that i've scanned in the picture: it's a picture depicting our group (faithfully drawn =P)

beauty from pain

The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
And then the darkness surrounds me
I know I'm alive
But I feel like I've died

And all that's left is to accept that it's over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I'm slipping away

CHORUS
After all this has passed
I still will remain
After I've cried my last
There'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today
Someday I'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

My whole world is the pain inside me
The best I can do is just get through the day
When life before is only a memory
I wonder why God let me walk through this place

And though I can't understand why this happened
I know that I will when I look back someday
And see how You've brought beauty from ashes
And made me as gold purified through these flames

CHORUS

Here I am at the end of me (at the end of me)
Trying to hold to what I can't see
I forgot how to hope
This night's been so long
I cling to Your promise there will be a dawn

CHORUS

long weekend update

What I did on my long weekend:

6 past papers (not fully but including the topics that will be tested tomorrow)
Finished 4 diagnostic tests and attempted Further Questions for those topics
Finally caught up on sleep!

oh and:

I've been helping my sister with her birthday present- a model ship! Isn't it so cool?? everything we have to individually cut out/paint/glue together.... it's painstaking work as some parts are soo minuscule, but i can't wait to see the finished product! i'll keep updated photos on how we're doing =) apparently it's going to be called HMAS Bavarian (don't know why- ask Bea!)

i'm sitting in a fridge

brr it's cold in here!
let's pump more CO2 into the atmosphere!

it's SERIOUSLY freezing these days... one day it's going to get so cold that i'll wake up one morning and find my room frozen over; or that we've entered into the new Ice Age overnight.

if there's one good thing about the cold, it keeps me awake! just a blast of frigid wind into ur face instantly makes you alert- imagine if we could package it into an aerosol can and sell it as Instant De-sleepifier...

Went shopping in the afternoon after church- got a new pair of jeans! yay i thought they were $40 but they were reduced to $30- that's 25% off!! (haha Ash i didn't need a calculator to work that out)

rargh i hate winter.... i feel like a dumpling.

in this fallen world

In this fallen world there are trials and suffering
Sorrow and pain to be found
And sometimes I'm tempted just to give up
And give it all away.
But then I remember, Jesus my Saviour
Humbled though he was God
He was rejected, he was forsaken
His life lead to the Cross!

CHORUS
Let us hold fast to the hope we profess
Let us run the race that's set before us
Let us encourage each other as the Day draws near
On that Day, we will see
Him coming on the clouds of heaven, coming
To take us home. (x3)

In this fallen world we are but strangers
Called to suffer for Christ's name
We are to witness to the ends of the earth
Unafraid and unashamed.
But my heart is so weary, troubled and heavy
I cry out: O Come Jesus Come!
For we have been chosen, to be God's children
We belong to the Kingdom to come!

CHORUS
Let us hold fast to the hope we profess
Let us run the race that's set before us
Let us encourage each other as the Day draws near
On that Day, we will see
Him coming on the clouds of heaven, coming
To take us home. (x3)

Anyone feel like putting these lyrics to music? I never was able to compose songs... it's just not my gift; but if anyone has spare time (lol as if) or like my lyrics enough, feel free to try make up a melody and chords to go with it!

time flies when you're not doing work.

trial timetable out. sigh i've complained enough in the past few days so i'll spare you from more misery. this year seems to be passing faster it takes me to eat a creme brulee ie it's going by very fast!!

just 3 more weeks till end of term, then 3 weeks holidays (not) then 2 weeks until TRIALS... whatever happened to having a life?! tomorrow i shall start intensely revising for 4u maths and i won't be "free" till at least the 21st June because i have assessments queuing up in the next 2 weeks: warning! approach with caution (it's a safe bet to placate me with food before you do)

relationships

The theme for EYF tonight was relationships. Over this year, I think the person I've spent the most time with is myself. However spending more time with myself doesn't mean I've come to know myself better! On the contrary it seems the more I learn about myself, the more doors it leads to that are yet undiscovered. (sigh... talk about inner journey! ><)

But seriously, I feel like this year I've become more reflective, more introspective, or if you look at it from the other side; self-absorbed. Which altogether may not be totally healthy.

So yeah; relationships. Ironic how during supper everyone is so segregated into their own little groups making light conversation, filling the hall with laughter and merriment.... what if we took away the facade and the masks... what would we find? Lost and lonely and weary souls who are seeking for something to satisfy them... but not quite finding it.

It's not the time of the month, but perhaps it's the time of the year that's causing me to doubt, to question the truth of what I know, of what I've been told; and to look for something more lasting. How to tell between truth and lies? between fantasy and reality? between true vibrant life and this shadowy imitation?
