Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

A marvellous promise - one that though I am terrified, I am discouraged; I can look up and find my strength in God for He promises to be with me wherever I go (including "areas of need")

A test of faith whether I truly believe that God works in all things for my good, whether I can trust him enough to seriously lay down my life at his feet, to say "Not my will, but yours be done". And it's ohh so hard... but I remember God's love, his self-sacrificial love shown through Christ, his unfailing love and eternal promises and I take one step forward, in faith.

It looks like a long and difficult path... but I know I am not alone, and that God has equipped me and provided me with everything and everyone I need to make it. I am not alone.

For this God is our God for ever and ever;
he will be our guide even to the end.
Ps 48:14
