Stealthily creeping in like a thief.
The heat enters unnoticed.

Stifling, dead air.
Like a thick blanket the heat traps us in.
Dry parched throats.

Sucking life, energy.
It envelopes and suffocates
Mercilessly.

Harsh, bright sun.
Endless punishing blue skies.
Temperature slowly climbs.

Useless to hide, heat
Hungrily consumes everything
In its path.
