a new WIRELESS MODEM!!!

w00t!!! after being on dial-up internet for the past few days, I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms for broadband...

best part is: Phase 2 of my plan is now firmly in place...*evil laugh* muahahahaha

let me recap:

This is Valerie's plan since last year to have my own computer in my room, not in the study.

Phase 1- when we moved house, I persuaded my parents to let me have my own desk in my room. Before, i shared a room with Bea, but now i have my own desk: "for doing work" but actually it's become my cupboard, with piles of clothes on it...

Phase 2- since my room doesn't have a phone connection, it means the only way i can have internet in my room is if we have an extra long cable that stretches all the way down the hall from my parents bedroom. So, I patiently and over a period of time suggested getting a wireless modem. At the same time (as this was a two-part phase) I moved all my files from the big computer to my mum's laptop- so now i work fully off the laptop.

Phase 3- somehow eventually I will find a good reason to move the laptop into my room instead of being in the study. Perhaps in summer when it gets too hot? who knows... phase 3 is still in its planning stages =P
